Description

High in the Nilgiri Mountains of the Western Ghats, Twirl Green Tea was born from Avataa's pursuit of a green tea where the character of the leaf could be expressed in its purest form. Its defining feature is its beautifully twirled, fully rolled leaf — carefully controlled rolling that develops the tea's distinctive appearance while letting it respond readily to hot water. Presented pure and unblended, it allows the intrinsic character of the Nilgiri leaf and Avataa's craftsmanship to speak for themselves.

  • Award: Overall Award Winner, North American Tea Conference, Bermuda, 2013 — won in this pure, unblended form
  • Leaf: Attractive, fully rolled, distinctive twirled shape with a natural bloomy appearance
  • Liquor: Bright, clear, lively yellow-green
  • Taste: Fresh green character, natural flavour, satisfying depth — smooth yet lively
  • Finish: Clean, refreshing, persistent

The Art of Steeping

The Master Brewer’s Ritual

1 teaspoon or 1 Pyramid Bag per cup

Use 1 pyramid bag or 1 teaspoon of tea for every 200ml of water, giving the leaves room to unfold and release their flavour.

85–90°C water

Use freshly heated water at the ideal temperature to gently extract the tea’s natural aroma, flavour, and character.

2-3 minutes

Steep for 2-3 minutes, then strain and enjoy. Adjust the time to discover the flavour profile you prefer.

"We do not simply cultivate tea. We tend a mountain, and let it decide what it wishes to become."
